FROCKS AT THEATRE.
'THE FIRST MRS. FRASER."
Simplicity and charm aro attractive features of the frocking in " The First Mrs. Eraser," which commenced a season at His Majesty's Theatre last evening. The frocks show in effective contrast against an artistically subdued background of gold, beige and blue, which comprise tho colours of the furniture and decorations in tho one scene on the stage throughout tho play.
Miss 1 Ethel Morrison makes her first appearance in a graceful gown of palo cinnamon silk laco with a simply-cut bodico and a long skirt widely flared from tho hips. Over it is worn a coateo of tho samo material edged with a gathered frill. Another'lace frock is worn by. Miss Morrison in tho second sceno, this being in parchment toning. The skirt is composed of two deep tiers and through tho lace coateo show two wide bands of deep topaz velvet attached to each shoulder to form a deep vandyked effect on the back and front of the corsage. Her final appearance is made in a lioral chiffon frock in tones of navy, rose and pale primrose, the skirt being gracefully draped from the waistline, while on the back of the bodice are two straight panels attached to tho shoulder in a capo effect. ' An unusual frock with a type of futuristic pattern on a background of white satin is worn by Miss Mary MacGregor in the first scene. The bodice has a bolero effect with a Wiled vest of plain white georgette, and with the frock is worn a skull cap of black corded satin. Par ticularly charming is tho second frock worn by Miss -MacGregor, tho chocolate brown chiffon with a primrose floral pattern being given a delightful autumntoned effect by the primrose slip over which it is worn. A close-fitting cap of chocolate brown velvet piped with primrose completes this ensemble. Frocks in brighter colours aro worn by Miss Noel Boyd, who first appears in a smart suit of pillar-box red crepe de chine, the coat being rounded at the bottom and fastened tightly by one button at tho Waistline over a blouse of white satin. With it sho wears a smart red felt hat far back off tho face and trimmed with a small white bow. Bright sapphire blue is the colour of her second frock of georgette, which is finished with a half capo collar falling over one shoulder to form a sleeve and edged with a white scalloped hem. A white Ballibuntal hat, tho brim slightly waved off the face and bound with blue ribbon, is also worn.
