THREE JOCKEYS HURT.

ACCIDENTS AT ELLERSLIE. FALLS IN HURDLE RACES. Three jockeys who were injured in falls in hurdle races at the opening of the Auckland Racing Club's Winter Meeting at Ellerslie yesterday were taken by the St. John Ambulance to the Auckland Hospital. All were reported to be progressing satisfactorily last evening. The riders were W. J. Bowden, A. Gilmer and T. Williams. Bowden rode Make Up and Gilmer was on High Pitch in the Great Northern Hurdles, and both were injured in a severe fall, Bo%vden receiving injuries to the head and a shoulder, and Gilmer concussion. Williams was riding Town Beauty in the Hunt Club Hurdles when the horse fell. He "suffered painful injuries to the back and the ribs on his left side.
