CLUB TOURNAMENTS HELD.
Several bowling clubs in Auckland held tournaments yesterday. In spito of previous rain the greens in most cases were in good order and some interesting play resulted. AUCKLAND CLUB. The Auckland Club closed the summer season yesterday with a pairs tournament. Tho greens were in excelent condition. H. F. Gilles won tho first prize for skips with five wins. C. Muston and H. F. Wright tied for second place with 45 wins. Among tho leads W. Lenderyou was first with 41 wins and T. H. Hampton second with '3\ wins. WINNERS AT CARLTON. There was an entry of 20 teams for the Carlton Bowling Club's full-rink tournament held yesterday. Tho competition was divided into two sections. Following were the section winners:—A section: Parker-Hill arid Truscott tied with 4 wins. Parkor-Hill won the play-off. Section B: Graham won the section with four wins. The final will be played at a later date. PLAY AT MOUNT ALBERT. ' The Mount Albert Bowling Club held a full-rink tournament yesterday, 28 teams competing. Five games of 12 heads were played. Tho section winners wero as follows:—Section A: A. Sage (Mount Albert) and Kayes (Rocky Nook) tied with four wins each. Sago won the play-off _ tion B: Hardley (West End) won with five wins Section C: Hill (West End) and Muir (Mount Albert) tied with four wins. Ilill won the play off. Section D: Bridge rs (Ponsonby) mid Wakerley (Rocky Nook) tied with four wins. Bridgers won "'ln P the semi-fimls Hardley beat Bridgers and Sage beat Hill. The final will bo played on Saturday. 'JOURNEY AT TAKAPUNA. Twenty-four teams, ' representing many clubs entered for tho full-rink tournament held on tho Takapuna bowling preen yesteulay The competition was divided into four sections, five rounds of 11 heads being played. Following were the section winners:—Section A: Dawson (Mount Albert), 5 wins. Section B: Adeane (West End), 4 wins. 1 loss. Section C: Drake (Takapuna). 4 wins, 1 loss. Section D: Ure (Auckland). 4 wins, 1 loss. , u i ]n the intor-scction play Dawson beat Adeane nnd Drake bent Ure. The final between Dawson and Drake will be plrjed on Saturday. DOMINION ROAD CLUB. The Dominion Ito-td Bowling Club held a full-rink tournament yesterday, an entry of 16 teams being received. 'lhe winner was Rich (Mount Eden), with 4 wins. Bush (Dominion Road) wa. the runner-up, with ;tt wins. ONEHUNGA TOURNAMENT. The Onehunga Bowling Club held a successful tourney yesterday. 36 teams competing in five games of It heads each, bection winners are as follows, with four wins and one loss each :-Section A : K eat ley (Rocky Nook). Soction B: J oil (Ellerslie) Section C: Pascoe (Devonport) and Knight (Mangere), tied Section D: McFarquhar (Onehunga).
