Shepherd and ,T. M. Mackenzie, of the Department of Agriculture. The competitions were arranged hy the Otorohangn Agricultural and Pastoral Association, and the'judges, in exnressing appreciation of the arrangements, complimented two competitors, one on the clean condition of his mangolds, and the other, on the excellent quality of his swedes. They expressed surprise at the extent and quality of the pastures and the large area under excellei.t field crops. Awards were as under:— Swedes. —11. A. Lurinan, 72£ points, 1; Peasley and Bell, 70 points, 2; J. 11. Fortune, 66£ [mints, $; J. 11. Cooper, 62j points, 4; T. Ootid, 62i, points, 5. Carrots.—R. Harper, 61 points, 1; J. ,J Walker, 53 points, 2; H A. Lurmati, 51 points, 3. Meadow Hay (maximum points, 30). — ,J. J. Walker, 25 points, 1; 11. A.
