EARL OF MEATH.
FOUNDER OF EMPIRE DAY. PROPOSAL FOR MEMORIAL. LONDON. May 26. In order to commemorate the originator of Empire Day, the Earl of Meath, the Duke of Connaught, Lords Jellicoe, Plumor, Harewood and Baden-Powell, and members of the Empire Day Committee have addressed a letter to the Times appealing for £4OOO to instal a window in St. Paul's Cathedral and erect an open-air memorial near Hyde Park in memory of Lord Meath.
