HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. FAIR TO CLOUDY. Tlic following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-dav was supplied by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:—The westerly storm area lias now passed castward and lias been replaced by the area of higli barometric pressure. Indications favour chiefly fair to fine weather in most districts, with cold night temperatures. Scattered showers are indicated in places near the west coast. Southerly winds, moderate to strong., decreasing. Seas moderating. Local outlook:—Fair to cloudy, with a tendency for an occasional shower. Barometer, midnight, rising .. 30.201n. Midnight, Monday .. .. 29.35 in. Temperature in shade yesterday (to midnight)— Maximum, 58deg.; Minimum, 49dcg. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—An anti-cyclone is advancing across the Tasman Sea. Indications are for westerly to southerly winds, moderate mainly but strong at limes in the far north and about Foveaux Strait. Seas rather rough in Foveaux Strait, otherwise smooth to moderate. Moderate south-westerly winds and moderate seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. The weather will be fair to fine in most districts, with cold night but milder day temperatures.
