SINGULAR ACCIDENT.

TYRE BLOWN OFF TRUCK. VEHICLE DRIVER INJURED. [by telegraph.—press association.] HAWERA, Tuesday. An unusual accident occurred at Manaia to-day and resulted in Mr. Eaynor Mudgway, farmer, of Raliotu, being sent to the hospital at Hawera. He was engaged in filling the tyres of a motor-truck with air at a service station when a tyre blew off the rim, the rings of which struck Mr. Mudgway with terrific force on the face and head, inflicting serious injuries. On his admission to hospital an operation was performed.
