ROTORUA NOTES.
Tho Rotorua Tennis Club held its annual danco in tho Majestic ballroom last week. The danco was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by tho many members and their friends. Coloured balloons and novelties added to the gaiety of tho evening. Tho ballroom was effectively decorated with multicoloured streamers and flowers, and tho supper room with foliage and tennis racquets inado of crepo paper in tho club's colours, bluo and gold. After supper prizes won during the past season were presented by the patron, Dr. S. H. Hay, and by Mrs. Hay. Tho winners wero as follows:—Ladies' championship singles, Miss M. Paton; ladies' handicap singles, Mrs. J. D. Davys; ladies' handicap doubles, Mrs. P. Sherriff and Miss L. Dannefaerd; men's championship singles, Mr. N. Smith; men's handicap, singles, Mr. A. C. Dannefaerd; men's handicap doubles, Mr. N. Smith and Mr. W. Smith; mixed doubles handicap, Mr. V. Banks and Miss L. Dannefaerd; most improved lady player, Miss Roma Steele; most improved man player, Mr. A. J. Harrow.
The ladies present included: —Mrs. S. H. Hay, who wore limo green charmouse; Mrs. H. Bertram, black silk laco; Mrs. E. G. Guy, apricot charmeuse; Mrs. R. Copeland-Smith, amber embossed georgette; Mrs. F. C. Bunyard, black georgette; Mrs. A. C. Watts, lomon satin beaute; Mrs. J. H. Herald, lime floral taffetas; Mrs. J. W. Ewen, black beaded georgette; Mrs. P. Sherriff, lemon and green floral taffetas; Mrs. E. Rae, black velvet; Mrs. J. D. Davys, crimson silk lace; Mrs. A. Brett, forest green georgette; Mrs. Hindmarsh, flame laco; Mrs. A. Walker, black lace; Mrs. Trevor Mellsop, lemon floral ninon; Mrs. Young, black lace; Mrs. Maclean, black laco; Mrs. Plowright, floral ninon; Mis 3 B. Evans, black gcorgetto; Miss Jcnn Gcisen, flame panne velvet; Miss C. Holland, lemon georgetto and parma violet coatee; Miss Ethel Sharpe, gentian blue embossed georgetto; Miss R. Cainpney, cherry panno velvet and gold lace; Miss M. Cooney, floral taffetas; Miss K. Hall, black lace; Miss 0. Dawson, black lace; Miss J. Bertram, blush pink georgette; Miss B. The literary circlo of the Rotorua Women's Club met at the home of Mrs. A. Brown, Fenton Street, for the reading of a modern play, "Alison's House," by Susan Glastell. Taking part were Mrs. N. M. Keane, Mrs. 11. H. Davis, Mrs. Douglas Davys, Mrs. Randerson, Mrs. Stewart, Miss Jean Pearco, Miss Joan Hodgeson.
