GRAPHITE PAINT ON ROOFS.
Sir,—l would like to bring under the notice of your readers the fact that the use of graphite in rcof paints is exceedingly dangerous to the workmen who ah a later dale may have to repair or repaint these roofs. Fcr a number of years past I have recommended against thense of these paints, and I have never found any building owner who insisted on tln» use after the danger was pointed out to him. It occurs to mo that you would be doing a real service if you wot;ld publish this letter, merely asking building owners to instruct their architects not to specify such paint. There is no need for me to stress tins danger, as representations arc at present being made m responsible authorities to try and prohibit the use of these paints. It is so easy, however, for representations to bo made, and a long time elapse before any real good is done, so that I thought your readers would be only too willing to assist in the direction indicated by instructing architects and builders to see that a paint was used which is not dangerous. Ers'est B. Bajibuky.
