DOMINION MANUFACTURES.
MANY MORE EMPLOYEES. INCREASE IN 15 YEARS. [BV TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] •WELLINGTON, Monday. In a message commending the New Zealand Industries Week, sent by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, tlie Hon P. A, de la Pcrrelle, to tho Manufacturers' Association, comment is made on the substantial increase in the number of hands employed in manufacturing establishments in tho Dominion. "I have been much impressed," states tho Minister, "by tho wonderful growth in tho number of employees engaged in straight-out manufacturing industries of tho Dominion during the past 15 years. In 1915 tho number of workers in these
industries was 29,445; in 1930 tho number had grown tfe 54,801, an increase of over 25,000. "What has been accomplished within tho comparatively short time of 15 years can be again repeated in considerably less time if the people of the Dominion adopt the principle of asking for and insisting on being supplied with the products of tho New Zealand factories."
