YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
«. CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH. Auckland. —Fine sunny weather prevailed yesterday, but the light southerly wind made the conditions cold in tho shade. After rising since mifi-day on Thursday tho baromoter registered 30.40 in. last night. Wellington.—The southerly, storm which sprang up on Thursday evening continued throughout the night and yesterday morning. Toward noon the storm abated and tho remainder of the day was fine, although cold. Christchurch.—Tho wind died down during the night'and tho rain ceased. Although the early morning was dull, tho balance of tho day was bright and sunny, but cold. The maximum temperature was 48 degrees. The wind was light from tho north-east. The barometer was falling, the reading in the evening being 30.35 in. Dunedin.—-Following a bleak night, with heavy rain and sleet, tho weather was fine and sunny. Tho wind was light from the south-west. The barometer, which roso over 50 points during Thur* day, was steady at 30.15 in.
