FALL UNDER TRAIN.
RECENT FRANKTON FATALITY. THE CORONER'S VERDICT. [FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Friday. An inquest concerning the death of Mrs. Eunice Alice Cook, aged 60, of Waimate North, who was killed as a result of falling under a moving train at Frankton Junction on May 11, was held before the coroner, Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., at Hamilton to-day. Evidence was given that on tho arrival of tho Tancatua express from Auckland several carriages were uncoupled and were being shunted away when deceased rushed out of the waiting-room and attempted to board one of tho moving carriages. She failed to secure a proper grip of the rail and fell underneath tho carriage. It was stated that a railway official was on the platform at tho tirno to warn people to keep clear of tho moving train. The coroner returned a verdict that the cause of death was injuries received whilo trying to board a train while in motion.
