M. BRIAND'S FUTURE.

RESIGNATION DEFINITE. RETIREMENT FROM OFFICE. I'AKIS, May 15. The Foreign Minister, M. Briand, has informed the Central News Agency that his resignation is definite, lie will retire from the Foreign Ministry directly he has returned from Geneva. After the presidential election, in which lie was defeated last week, M. Briand said ; " The Presidential vote undoubtedly nffects internal politics, but it is not connected with foreign policy, which has heen approved many times by both Houses. 1 will continue to manage foreign affairs as long as I have a majority in both Houses. Moreover, I have every intention of going to Geneva for the meeting of the League of Nations." It was officially stated on Thursday that M. Briand did not intend to resign.
