MOTHERS' UNION.
MANUREWA BRANCH. Tlie Manurewa branch of tlic Mothers Union met Inst week, and had, as their guests, the members of tlie League of Mothers. The Countess ol Orford, patroness of the Mothers' Union, welcomed the guests, and said she fully endorsed Archbishop Averill's views on Church union. It was imperative for everyone, including churches, to work together in unity in those necessitous times. Mrs George Moreton, whom she introduced to the gathering, spoke freely on the objects of the Mothers' Union, saying what a splendid help such an organisation was to mothers in the spiritual upbringing of their children, and how each member should try to inteiest other mothers for the benefit of their children. The president., Mrs. Frank Dobsou, thanked the Countess of Orford for her presence that afternoon, and for the great interest she took in the union. She also thanked Mrs. Moreton tor her address.
Among those present were: Mrs. McCallum and Mrs. Phillips, president and secretary, respectively, of the League of Mothers, Mrs. White, provincial secretary, and Mesdames Ayling do Carteret, C. R. Crispe, Delves, Dobson, Grey, Gladden, Gillard, Jenkins, Lupton, senr., 11. It. Lupton. Maunsell, W. Phillips, T. Rodgers, Wayby, Whitton, Willott, T. Wood, Vaniton, V. Rogers, Emptage, Wright, Lowther, Pearson, Barnes, Robertson, Anderson and Kilduff.
