DUNEDIN POST OFFICE.
ERECTING NEW BUILDING. COMPLAINT OF DELAYS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] DUNEDIN, Saturday. The slow progress that is being made with tlie erection of Dunedin's new post office is tho subject of representations from time to time to the Govern men t. The work was started upon tho foundations several years ago and has proceeded in a leisurely manner, to which citizens have more or less grown accustomed. The latest representations on the subject were made to the Minister of Public Works, and the Hon. W. 13. Taverner replies as follows: —
"The Government fully appreciates the need that exists for a proper post office building in Dunedin and the matter is receiving special consideration in connecton with the preparation of estimates of expenditure for the current financial year. I am personally hopeful that the financial resources available will permit of a sufficient appropriation to enable the work to proceed at an early date and as soon as the Cabinet has finally considered the matter I shall be glad to advise you of the result."
