STRIKE ON NEWSPAPER.
MEN RETURN TO WORK. LONDON, May 8. In consequence of the strike of the machinemen yesterday the Evening News declined to print early editions. The Evening Standard and the Star appeared as usual. Later, the machinemen returned to work unconditionally, owing to representations by their own trade union officials, and late editions wore published.
