CAMBRIDGE POWER BOARD.
SMALJ. PROFIT FOR YEAR. SALARY REDUCTIONS URGED. [from ottr own correspondent.] CAMBRIDGE, Friday. At the annual meeting of the Cambridge Electric-Power Board to-day, Mr. M. Wells was unanimously re-elected chairman, and Mi 1 . W. Harbutt was again elected deputy-chairman.
The chairman's honorarium was reduced from £2OO to £155. A resolution was carried, expressing the board's opinion that, on national grounds, a general cut of 10 per cent, should be made in all wages and salaries above £l5O a year, and that the executive of the Power Boards' Association should be to call a meeting of all power authorities in order that unanimity of action may be obtained. In a comprehensive report, the chairman said that the net revenue from all sources for the year totalled £20,462, against £19,411 for the previous year. The growth of the board's business was shown in a schedule. In 1922, the consumers numbered 378 and the total revenue was £1974. In 1931, the numbe r of consumers was 1341, and the total revenue was above £20,400.
The year closed with a profit of, £549 after allowing for bad debts and various contingencies. The. new consumers numbered 66, compared with 75 tho previous, year.
