YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH. Auckland. —Steady rain yesterday mornwas followed by dull and showery weather in the afternoon. The wind was moderate from the south-east. The barometer feil during the day from 29.95 in. to 29.80 in., at which it was steady last evening. Wellington.—lt was a fine day yesterday with a light wind from the south. The sky clouded over toward evening, and light rain fell. Christchurch. —The weather was dull *n the morning, but fine and sunny in the afternoon. The wind was light from the north-east. The maximum temperature was 51 degrees. The barometer, after falling slowly all day, later took a turn upward and registered 30.20 in. Dunedin. —The weather was cloudy, fine and cold yesterday with a light breczo from the so.ith-we.st. The maximum temperature was 55 degrees. The barometer was steady and registered 30.10 in.
