BANK'S LOSS OF £SOOO.
WARRANT FORGED IN 1929. POLICE MAKE ARRESTS. SYDNEY, May C. Two men in December, 1929, entered the head office of the Australian Bank of Commerce and after binding over <i warrant received £SOOO in £lO and £5 notes. The police yesterday arrested three men in different suburbs, who were later charged with stealing £SOOO fiom the bank. A telephone message was received by the bank on December 14, 1929, asking for £sooo'in notes, and a few minutes later two men arrived with a National Bank warrant authorising the payment.
