CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH. Auckland.—A freshening north-east wind and dull, cloudy weather prevailed yesterday, but the barometer showed little movement, being steady at 29.95 in. list evening. Wellington.—During Tuesday night the wind turned to th© south. The weather yesterday was cold. Light rain lell throughout the day. Christchurch.—The weather was dull and cold, with a few misty showers in the afternoon The wind was variable from south-west to north-east. The maximum temperature was 'l9 degrees. Ihe barometer was steady at 30.30 in. Dunedin. —The weather was dull, overcast and cold yesterday-, with a light breeze frrom the north-east. The maximum temperature was 54 degrees, lho barometer was steady and registered 3Q,3Qin.
