YEAR'S WORK REVIEWED. IMPROVEMENTS TO PARKS. [fr6m ottr OWN correspondent.] HAMILTON, Wednesday. A year of progress in connection with improvements to the various parks in | Hamilton was revealed in the annual report of the Hamilton Domain Board, which was presented at the annual meet | ing last evening. Mr. W. H. Paul presided. The report stated that during the past 12 months the Lake Reserve had been further improved by widening portions of the camage way and tarring and sanding the area in front of the bathing sheds. The work of laying down a small golf course was now well advanced and the links would probably he ready for play next season. Opportunity had been taken under the unemployment relief schemes to clear noxious weeds l'rom areas of the board's land, which had become overgrown. It was, hoped to have a. further 57 acres on the west side of the lake cleared in the same manner. The weed-cutting launch had been frequently used on the lake during the year and would be kept in operation until the weeds and rushes were well-in hand. The following resolution, moved by Mr. D. Hay, was referred to the sports com mittee for a report:—That in order that the board may at all times act with fairness to others and in the interests of the public, it is advisable that the board should definitely adopt a stable policy regarding the leasing of its lands for recreation purposes. Mr. W. H. Paul was unanimously reelected chairman.
