THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE. * * MARKET GENERALLY EASIER. A generally weaker tone was recoided on (ho Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. Falls predominated in the price movements. No sales were recorded in the .gilt-edged section, although the market for Government loans held very firm. In fcVio banking group, Commercials had their first Auckland sale this week at a fall of 6d on Thursday's market, but on a level with the lowest Southern salo of the previous day. More were wanted at 13s lid, sellers asking 14s 4d. New South WiJles were also easier, a salo taking place at £25 ss, which is 2s 6d below the market of the previous day. New Zealands lost Is 6d on the previous Auckland sale five days ago to sell at 51s 6d. Unions had their first Auckland salo since the middle of April at a fall of 34s 6d over the period, but the price, £7, was on a par with the Southern market of the day before. The insurance group was quiet. Buyors came in for New Zealands at 40s 6d, compared with the previous sale at 425. Auckland Gas shares were very firm, wilh sellers Id up at 235. Loan and agency and coal shares continued practically neglected. Kauri Timbers were a shade easier at the close.' New Zealand Breweries were also slightly easier. Colonial Sugars lost £1 on the previous Auckland sale to chango hands at £34. New Zealand Refrigerating, contributing, were dealt in for the first time on the Auckland Exchange since March at 2s lid, rnoro being wanted at 2s 6d. Wilsons Cements were a shado easier. Alining was quiet, only two sales being recorded.
