WOOL SALES PRICES.

STEADY LONDON DEMAND. NEW ZEALAND OFFERINGS. LONDON, May 2. At the wool sales 9242 bales were offered, including 3443 from New Zealand, and about 4550 were sold. There was a pood selection of New Zealand gieasies and a poor offering of all other sorts. Prices were unchanged, with a steady demand from all sections for greasy combings.' New Zealand greasy Merino clip Tyntesfield made top price 11 d, average 10gd; halfbred clip, Kaiwara, lO^d; crossbred clip, Ngatui, 6Jd and 6£d. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated April 29, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— The wool sales opened yesterday with a large attendance and competition fairly general. The selection offered was mainly crossbred, with only a small proportion of Merino. Values reflect an easier tendency prevailing since preceding sales. Compared with closing rates last series Merino were par to 5 per cent., fine crossbred 7j per cent, to 10 per cent., medium and coarse crossbred 10 per cent, to 15 per cent, lower. There were 164,000 bales available for the scries, including 60,000-New Zealand, 73,000 Australian and 1 29,000 South American. ■ Dalgety and Company, Limited, has received the following cablegram from its London house, dated May 1 : —The wool sales continue with no material change. DONAGIIY'S ROPE COMPANY. NET PROFIT OF £6Oll. USUAL DIVIDEND RECOMMENDED. A net profit of £6Oll is shown in the annual report and balance-sheet of Donaghy's Rope and Twine Company, Limited, for the year ended March 31. To this is added the sum of £3620 brought forward from the previous year. Deducting the interim dividend of 9d per share paid in October, there remains for distribution £7868.
