QUIET AT FESTIVAL.
MOSLEMS NOT DISTURBED. POLICE TAKE PRECAUTIONS. DELHI, April 30. The great Mohammedan festival of Bakrid passed off quietly throughout the country, contrary to expectations. Probably this waj because of the drastic precautions taken, in view of the- recent riots at Cawnpore.
WORLD DISARMAMENT.
RIVAL LEADERS TO URGE. SITUATION CAUSING CONCERN. LONDON, April 30. The leaders of the three political parties, Messrs. Mac Donald, Baldwin and Lloyd George, will speak at a national demonstration in favour of world disarmament to bo held in the Albert Hall on July 11. It is believed that this will be the first time the. leaders of all the political parties in England will have spoken from a common platform to urge disarmament.
Considerable significance attaches to- the occasion owing to the unsettled international situation which has heen further aggravated by the breakdown of the Anglo-Franco-Italiun naval agreement negotiations. The widespread rearming instead of disarming has aroused greater concern in diplomatic circles than the public appreciates.
ITALY AND FRANCE. NEW NAVAL CONSTRUCTION. LONDON, April 30.
