'A message from Lisbon says tho Portuguese Government//admits that thero is n revolt in the Azores. The garrisons at San /Miguel and Terceira have been disbanded, but the troops at Horta havo telegraphed their loyalty to the Government, which has decreed tho dismissal of tho /troops and civil servants who have taken part in the revolt.

(Two transports with men for tho punitive expedition to Madeira quietly slipped cut of harbour, but;' it is suggested that they may bo recalled in the event of adverse developments in Portugal. Tho Government persists in the statement that all is quiet throughout the country. but the British United Press correspondent says troops are being- concentrated at strategic points./

The Lisbon correspondent of the Times ttates that the Government has intercepted wireless messages from Madeira. The rebels are imploring information and directions from Dr. Machada, a former President, who is acting in conjunction with his colleagues in Paris in a league, composed of dissatisfied political refugees.

. Dr. Machada and other members of th? league are at present in Madrid. Many arrests have been made throughout Portugal.
