ANNUAL HARBOUR SWIM.

VICTORY FOR A. RAPER. PONSONBY CLUB'S CARNIVAL. The annual harbour race for the/WaiWai Shield was conducted by the Ponsonby Swimming Club 011 Saturday afternoon in cold weather, and was won by A. Raper, who, with a handicap of one minute, covered the distance of three-quarters of a mile from Western Wharf to Shelly Beach in 20m 15s. Ten competitors started and eight of them finished. The club also held a carnival at the Shelly Beach Baths. The principal event, the lOOyds. club championship, was won by A. Raper, while the 50yds. ladies' championship was annexed by Miss J. Smith. The Auckland ladies' diving championship went to Miss Dowman, and Miss S. Johnston won the Leys Memorial Cup for competition among primary schools. Following are the results:— Harbour Swim.—A.
