STANDARDISED PRODUCTS.
SCIENTIFIC PRINCIPLES
"Great as have been the. developments of the last five years we are not suf ficiently facing facts in our primary industries from the point of view of replacing out-of-date arts and haphazard methods and the application of scientific principles of process manufacture," said Dr. E. Marsdeu, secretary of tho Department of Scientific and Industrial Research at Canterbury College. "We have much leeway to mako up with the quality of our products and exports compared with the potential advantages of our unique climate and soil. In tho case of all of our exportable products, so necessary to pay off our national debt and thus maintain our national honour, we are facing increased competition in our only open market, and the one necessity is standardised products with those qualities which appeal to our customers."
