TO-DAY'S PUBLICATION. FINE PICTORIAL SECTION. MANY STRIKING FEATURES. Another remarkably fine issue of the Auckland Weekly News is published to-day and onco again the excellence of tho large pictorial section will command wide attention and admiration. All the important happenings of the week throughout the Dominion are illustrated in a most attractive and up-to-date style, while there are also numerous splendid features depicting New Zealand life and scenic beauties in a manner that will appeal to all. The* Easter carnival of the Auckland Racing Club at Ellerslie is featured on tho striking frontispiece. The serious floods in North and South Island districts at the end of last week are illustrated on a full page devoted to comprehensive
views. "The enchanting beauties of a worldfamous New Zealand scenic district" is the title of the centre double-pane on which are reproduced a series of unusually beautiful photographs secured among the lakes, fiords and snow-capped mountains in the south-west of the South Island. An arresting full-page picture shows pit-sawing operations in progress amid picturesque surrounding in a beautiful South Island forest. On another full page is a most striking series of views depicting life and activities on board one of the trawlers which provide fish for Auckland City There are many photographs from the Hawke's Bay earthquake area showing restoration activities and other topics. An infinite variety of subjects comprise the remaining pages of this interesting issue, many topical photographs being most attractively combined with striking scenic and travel pictures. The following list will give some idea of the extremely wide range covered: —Flagship of the New Zealand Navy at Nelson; new Samoan Administrator at home; founda-tion-stone laid for new Nurses' Home at Hospital; Lady Bledisloc with Girl Guides; British speed-boat, Miss England 11., establishes new world's speed record; yacht Oimara at Sydnpy; the Cambridge crew, winner of this year's University boat race; pleasure craft at Auckland; memorial to Lance Gibson, who lost his life on Mount Eginont.
