WREATHS DISTURBED. TREASURE HUNTERS' OFFENCE. Tho custodian of tho Sydney Cenotaph, Colonel Murphy, recently made a report to the police regarding the actions of a number of well-dressed young people in five sedan cars at the Cenotaph. Mr. Murphy said ho was in Martin Place when he saw tho cars, which wero crowded with young men and women between the ages of 18 and 26, who, apparently were on a treasure hunt. Ho saw several of them lifting up the wreaths on tho Cenotaph as if looking for tho paper clues which are common to a troasure hunt and ho made a strong protest. This had the desired effect for the moment, but a young man who had been searching around Martin Place came running up and took a flying leap 011 to a lodge. Taking no heed of Mr. Murphy, this young man lifted up a laurel wreath on the top of the Cenotaph and peered .underneath. Shortly afterwards tho cars drove off to the accompaniment of noisj laughter. The matter was placed in the hands oi tjie police.
