WEDDINGS.

DOUGLAS—McNEIL. Tlio wedding was celebrated recently at licr mother's residence, Dominion Road, Tunkali, of Mis:* Margaret Inglis McNeil, eldest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. James McNeil, to Mr. James Douglas, of Pukckohc. The Rev. J. Pattison performed the ceremony, assisted by the Rev. M. Finniss. The bride, who was given away by Mr. W. Glasgow, wore a frock of navy blue rayon with hat lO tone. She carried a shower bouquet of bouvardias and Michaelmas daisies. The bridesmaid, Miss Mary McNeil, sister of the bride, wore a peach shaded frock with hat to match and carried a bouquet of pink and white belladonna lilies. Mr. Andrew Douglas was best man.

,F INCH-KENNEDY. The wedding was celebrated in the historic old church of St. John's, To Awamutu, 011 Saturday evening, of Miss Ruby Kennedy, eldest daughter of Mrs. Kennedy, of Otorohanga, to Mr. Charles Arnold, eldest son of Mrs. Finch, Carlton Street, To Awamutu. The bride wore a frock of white georgette, inset with lace, and touches of pink, with a veil caught with orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of pink and white roses and carnations. Miss Mary Cooper, of Puahue, was tlio bridesmaid, and woro a palo green georgette frock, with .a gnjen felt hat to match. She carried a bouquet of autumn flowers. Tlicvflower girl was little Etlino Finch. Her Early Victorian frock was of pale pink net, and she carried a posy of palo pink and blue flowers. The bridegroom's brother, Mr. A. 0. Finch, was best man. After the ceremony fi wedding breakfast was hold at the Lounge. The bridegroom is very well known in tlio public life of To Awamutu and in addition to being a member of the Borough Council and socretary of the local bowling dub, holds other public offices. FR AZERHURST—JONES. The Holy Trinity Church at Pakaraka was the sccno of the wedding on Easter Saturday of Miss Winifred Agnes Jones, third daughter of Mr. J. W. F. Jones and the late Mrs. Jones, to Mr. Hugh Dennis Frazerhurst, eldest son of Dr. and Mrs. Frazerhurst, of Wliakatane. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore an ankle-length frock of ivory satin. Her veil of embroidered silk net was held in place by sprays of orange blossom and fell to form a train. She carried a sheaf bouquet of white carnations, bouvardias and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Anno Jones, sister of the bride, who wore an anklelength frock of apple-green georgette, with hat to tone, and Miss Gladys Rushworth, who wore a similar frock in shellpink. The two little flower girls were Agnes Mackereth, niece of the bride, and Mario Jones, of Dargaville. They wore Kalo Grcenaway frocks of apple-green and shell-pink taffeta respectively, and carried Victorian posies. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Terence Frazerhurst, as best man, and Mr. Peter Jones as groomsman. Mr. C. F. Jones and Mr. W. Bulman were ushers. The church was charmingly decorated by friends of the bride. After the ceremony a reception was held at Ngaheia, the home of the bride. Miss Jones received the guests wearing an ankle-length frock of bluo floral georgette and hat to tone. The bridegroom's mother wore a frock of black chenillo georgette, with small black hat.

HARRIS—SYERS. The marriage of Miss Phyllis Svers, of Opotiki, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Syors, of Avondale, to the IJev. George Raymond Harris, of Opotiki, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Harris, of Hamilton, was celebrated at the Pitt Street Methodist Church yesterday morning. The Rev. W. Walker performed the ceremony. The brido, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory georgette with a tight-fitting bodice ancl a full ankle-length skirt composed of • scalloped flared tiers. Her tulle veil, which formed a train, was arranged on tho head with a lace bandeau and she carried a bouquet of white cactus dahlias. In attendance -as bridesmaids woro Miss Vera Syers and Miss Jessie Stewart, who wore frocks of shell pink georgette and silver lace, and pink summer felt hats trimmed with satin ribbon. They carried bouquets of pink flowers to lone. Tho bridegroom was attended by Mr. C. Gillespie as best man, and Mr. D. Syers was groomsman. lIAWKE—FRITH. Tho wedding was celebrated in St. David's Presbyterian Church, To Aroha, last Thursday afternoon of Miss Florence Joyco Frith, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Frith, of Horomiko Street, To Aroha, to Mr. Herbert Roy Hawke, second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. of Auckland. The Rev. H. B. Hughes performed the ceremony and Mr. A. 11. Margison played tho wedding music. Tho brido wore a sleeveless gown of shell pink satin bcaulo with tight-fitting bodice of pink georgette and ankle-length skirt, composed of three wide flares separated by narrow panels of satin edged with goorgetto frills. Her hand-made shell pink bridal veil of Brussels net was caught to tho head by posies of silver leaves and pink georgette roses and fell to form a long train. Sho carried a bouquet of flowers to tone. Mrs. N. Chapman attended her sister as matron of honour and wore ail ankle-length frock of flecked shell pink satin beaut e. Her tight-fitting bodice was attached diagonally to tho skirt of shell pink georgette, through which showed palest apple-green crepe do chine. A large satin bow with diamante bucklo finished tho back of tho frock and a pink felt hat was also worn. Sho carried a tulle and silver tissue muff trimmed with real flowers. Mr. A. Klaus, of Cambridge, was best man. The breakfast was held in the Catholic Hall, Mrs. Frith receiving her guests in a deep cinnamon costumo with hat of silk velvet and felt. She carried a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers. Tho bridegroom's mother woro black satin beaute with touches of peach and a black felt hat. A bouquet of pink flowers was carried. O'BRIEN—FRANKLIN. Tho wedding was solemnised at All Souls' Catholic Church at Dcvonport on Monday of Miss Dorothy P. Franklin, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin, of Empiro Road, Dcvonport, and Mr. J. O'Brien, only son of Mr. and tho late Mrs. O'Brien, of Stillwater, Grcymouth. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Father Furlong, and tho wedding music was played by Miss Edna Sinclair. The Children of Mary and tho members of the Dcvonport Fire Brigade formed a guai'd of honour. Tho brido, who entered the church with her father, wore her blue cloak of the Children of Mary over her wedding frock of cream satin velvet, which was caught at one side with a softly falling bow. Her veil of embroidered tulle was worn with a cap effect fastened with trails of orange blossoms, and sho carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. Tho two bridesmaids, Miss Kathleen Franklin and Miss Patsy Rhodes, were similarly frocked in apple green and pearl pink georgette, respectively. Their small caps of fino lace straw woro finished across the back with soft bows of satin ribbon and they carried Victorian posies to tone with their frocks. Tho best man was Mr. Georgo Rhodes, and Mr. D. Franklin was groomsman. Mr. F. Williams was usher. A reception was held after the ceremony at trio homo of tho bride's parents, Mrs. Franklin receiving her guests in a frock of navy georgette with small navy and whito straw hat. > . -•

THOMSEN—MEAR. The wedding was celebrated at the Mourea Anglican Church on Thursday of Miss May Agnes Mear, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mear, of Mourea, and Mr. Vincent Leslie Thoinsen, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomson, of Hatuma, Hawke's Bay. The church was attractively decorated by the friends of the bride, and Archdeacon Chaltcrton, of Rotorua, officiated. The bride entered the church with her father, wearing an ankle-length frock of ivory satin. The wedding veil of hand-embroidered tulle was fastened with a spray of orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of white flowers, with touches of pink. The bridesmaids in attendance were Miss Isabello Mear, sister of the bride, and Miss Esther Thomson, sister of the bridegroom. They wore ankle-length frocks of pule coral and lettuce-green celanese georgette and carried shower bouquets of autumntinted flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. A. Thomson as best man .and Mr. Reg. Thomsen groomsman. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the residence of the bride's parents, Mrs. Mear receiving in a gown of black crepo Gcnova.
