AUCKLAND CENTRE TOURNEY. INTER-SECTION GAMES BEGUN. RAIN INTERFERES WITH PLAY. Slight progress was made with the intersectional play of tlie Easter Fours in the Auckland Howling Centre's Easter tournament, which was continued yesterday on the Carlton Club's preen. Two games in the first round wore completed in the morning, but tho second mind panics had not proceeded very far when rain set in and put an end to play for the day. (ienerally, about seven heads wore played in the four games, and play will take up from that stage, commencing on the name green at. 8.15 a.m. to-da.v. 'L'ho final of the Executive Fours between Keutley, Rocky Nook, and l'hilip, St. Holier*. was commenced, and when play ceased the former team held the lead. Following are tlio results of tho games played in the Easter Fours:— First liound. —Cave, Hill, Gntonby, Miller (Mount Eden), 17, v. Isaacs, Brittain, Bird. Carter (Carlton). 11; Brook, Short, Macfarlane, Russell (Remuera). 10, v. P. White, S, "White, Norris, Wright (St. lleliers), 10.
Tho Kiime between Miller and Carter was very oven and 'hold tho interest of the spectators right through. Tlio chief characteristics of tho gninu were Cartor's accurate running shots and Miller's consistent drawing. 'l'ho htsl-nuiued drew a great shot on tho 20tli head, when his side was sorely in need of assistance. 'lbis phot practically won the game, as iL made Mount Eden two up with tho last head to play. Tho tennis wcro even on (ho llilh head, tho score being 13-all, and again on tho lsth head, with tho score lit 11. Tho St. Heliers-Reniuera game was a moro even one than the scores indicate. There was not much in it until the 18th head was played, when a score of 4, added to the existing margin of points in Reniuera's favour, lna.le tlio latter eight points to the good. After the first two heads were played Reinuera assumed command and held the advantage right through. The Remuera lead and No. 2, Brook and Short, played good bowls. GI.'EV LYNN CM It. A successful three-days' tournament was played on tho Grey Lynn green during Easter. Six teams tied with 4 wins and 2 losses— Parsons ( Potisonby), Wallace (Mount Albert), Eaglet on (Rocky Nook), Bridges (l'onsonby), Fan. h t Ponsonby) ul „l Puddle (Grey Lynn). In the play-off L'n rsons beat Puddle, Eagleton beat Bridges, Wallace bent I'anch. 1 lie tinnl between Parsons and Eagleton v.na won by the former.
