POLICE COURT NEWS.
SHRUB WILFULLY DAMAGED. "While on his way to the 'doss' house on Monday evening accused, for some unknown reason, wilfully damaged a shrub outside a hotel," said Detective Sergeant, Kelly in the Police Court yesterday, when Herbert. Gordon Lewis, aged 27, labourer (Mr. Schramm), was charged with committing mischief. He pleaded guilty.
The magistrate, Mr. E. G. Cut ten, convicted Lewis and Ordered him lo pay 15s damages and £2 2s 6d costs, default being fixed at seven days' imprisonment. Accused was allowed 14 days to pay.
For behaving in a disorderly manner in Great North Road, Grey Lynn, at- an early hour on tho morning of March -18. two young men, Joseph Lee and his brot her, Charles I-en, were each fined ,C 1 and 18s costs, with (lie allcrnativo of three days' imprisonment.
