PRESENTATIONS.
Members of tho police force and Justice Department stationed at Onehunga, farewelled Sergeant D. J. O'Neill, who has been :in charge of the Onehunga police for tho past 15 months, and whose transfer to Hastings will take effect at the end of the week. There was a large attendance of business men and residents, while Mr. W. J. M.P., and the district coroner, Mr. D. Sutherland, were also present. Constable W. E. C. Poll presented Serjeant O'Neill with a handsome clock, while Mrs. O'Neill was presented with a silver sugar basin and spoon by the wives of the constables. The clerk of the Magistrate's Court, Mr. C. Roberts, paid a tribute to the efficiency and popularity of Sergeant O'Neill during his term at Onehunga. A largo congregation attended at the Methodist Church, Morrinsville, on 'Sunday evening when the Rev. A. T. Kent, who has been transferred to Sumner, preached his farewell sermon. At the close of the service Mr. Forbes West, on behalf of the congregation, presented Mr. Kent with a roll of notes as a farewell gift and expressed regret at losing him.
