FREE RAILWAY PASSES. WITHDRAWAL NEXT WEEK. [nt TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Free railway tickets for earthquake refugees in Wellington are to be withdrawn next week. Hundreds of refugees are still staying in Wellington, and the majority it is considered have no good roason for further delay. Applications for free passes on the railway must be lodged with the Red Cross Society before Tuesday next.

Hundreds of sightseers flocked to Napier again over tlio week-end, repeating the rush experienced 011 Friday. The NapierHastings road was constantly filled with cars travelling in both directions on Sunday and yesterday. Tll half an hour over 200 cars were counted leaving Napier. Trains and service cars brought further large continjgents of sightseers, who sponfijho day walking the streets of the devastated area, or riding in buses to outlying townships, such as Taradale and Greenmeadows. Tho visitors appeared to gain .a firm impression of tho /progress made in tho reconstruction of Napier since the earthquake. They seemed most interested in tile community shops in Clive Square, where shopkeepers had arranged attractive displays. The sightseers who had read accounts of Napier being completely wiped out and came expecting to see the ruined buildings unrelieved by any sign of active business, were most agreeably surprised at tho attractive appearance of the shops which had been opened, and at the atmosphere of firm re-establishment which had been produced.
