SYDNEY SHOW CONTESTS. SAWING CHAMPIONSHIP. (Received April 6, 11.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 6. In the wood-chopping championships ut the Royal Easter Show at Sydney the final of the Australian championship, 15in. log, was won by C. Winkle (Queensland). E. Ehlreth (New South Wales) was second and C. Miley (Victoria) third. Whata Green (New Zealand) won his heat, but was not placed in the final. Time, 61s. In the combination handicap (12in. standing and 12in. underhand) log chop, the final was won by M. McCarthy (New South Wales), with A. Christcnsen second and J. Kenny third. Time, lm 265.
In the double-handed sawing championship Winkle and Ehlreth won the saw-off and championship after a deadheat with D. and T. Payne. Time, 15 l-ss.
