IMPORTS OF PARROTS.
RESTRICTIONS VARIED. BIRDS FOR ZOO PURPOSES. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION'. ] WELLINGTON, Monday. Slight variations have been agreed to by the Government in connection with the restrictions imposed on the importations of parrots. Consideration is to be given to any application for permission to import members of the parrot family for zoo purposes, or by persons desiring to import such birds otherwise than for sale.
The existing ban in regard to other birds has been removed. Applications to import them will be considered on the same lines as prior to the imposition of the ban. All birds, of course, have to have a clean bill of health.
