The second day of the Feitding Jockey Club's meeting was held to-day in fine but dull weather. The track was in splendid order. A change of riders on Goldlike made all the difference in tho hurdles. lie got awny well and lay handy, going to the front half a mile from home. He won with great ease. Knollmere was a red-hot favourite for the Rewa Handicap, being narrowly beaten by Wallaruh, who went with him all the way. Paitonu Rcored his first win of the season in the Easter Handicap. He lay in behind until the home turn, and was in front shortly after entering the straight. Calamine came with a strong challenge over the last furlong, but Paitonu held on and scored nicely all out. Pahu did not improve much upon his first day's display, but again finished 011. Miss Slief led all the way in the hack seven, and had no difficulty in holding off the favourite, Nightmare. Nightmare had every chance.

White Squall led nil the way in tlie maiden race and won without difficulty. The first day's form was borne out in the open sprint, when Aston beat Orapai. Aston led all Iho way and scored very easily, and was never seriously threatened. Consent, the favourite, had every chance, but Gold Dawn lost second place through serious interference

Mahora, the favourite in the hack cup. scored in a tight finish from Grand JuryBoth were handily placed throughout in the running. The winner was vigorously handled by Morris, and to this Mahora's win wus largely due. Fitzquex repeated his first day's win in the concluding event, being up in front after the Hist two furlongs, and stalling off a strong run by the favourite, Richfield. Richfield had every chance. Cashier finished a very close third. Better drawn and placed earlier, it looked as if ho would have won. DONCASTER HANDICAP. SIR CHRYGTOPHER'S FEAT. A PROFITABLE PURCHASE. SYDNEY. April (5. Commenting on (he Doncnslcr Handicap, run at Randwick on Saturday, (lie Sydney Morning Herald Hays:—Sir Clnystopher's victory was a just reward for his consistency and a triumph for the Newcastle trainer L. Cashman, who has been studying the horse's peculiarities for many months. Sir Chryslo-I'h-vr. who this year has won four out of five starts, came from last at the tli roc furlongs post to first at the furlong post, and, sustaining a long, gruelling run, won by three-quarters of a. length from that sterling performer Mollison, who tried to win all the way. The time was only half a second outside Whitticr's 1921 record for the Doncaster.

Sir Chrystopher was purchased as a yearling for only 80 guineas. However, the buyer was not satisfied, and resold him to Mr. H. K. Mnnro for 60 guineas. Already Le Inis won £Oll7.
