CIVIC WINTER GARDEN.
Mauve and white cosmos and foliage plants made effective decorations at'tha Civic Winter Gardens on Saturday evening, and many dancers were present to enjoy the music of • the cabaret band. Members of the J. C. Williamson pantomime company were among those who were present and the gathering also included—Mrs. Ryland, who wore a frock of black mousseline; Mrs. Guthrie Blakie (Rotorua), black georgette and an emerald bridge coatee; Mrs. Good, coral pink early Victorian frock; Mrs. C. L., Crump, leaf-green tinsel; Miss McConnell, buttercup satin beaute; Miss Calthorpe, lettucegreen chartreuse georgette; Miss Robinson, primrose polka dotted net; Miss Saunders, black crepe satin; Miss Edgar, daffodil printed silk taffeta; Miss Murray, bois de rose marodain; Miss. Hoban, silver tissue and orchid mousssline; Miss Young, maroon brown cire lace; Miss Phruston, black ring velvet; Miss V. Regan, mist blue taffeta; Miss F. Fegan, lime green ripple ninon; Miss Richards, eau de nil georgette; Miss Schmoel, duchess blue, ankle-length frock of chiffon velvet; Miss Impey, midland red ninon .and coatee to tone; Miss D. Corringham, blush pink frock of frilled net and Oriental shawl; Miss Joy Burnett, Nile green moire taffeta trimmed with gold lace; Miss F. Reading. Micawber green georgette with coloured roses; Miss J. Lyons, black and while marocain; Miss Lamb, gold lame and. cherry chenille georgette; Miss Dudley, apricot moire and tulle; Miss Dwan, Burgundy chenille; Miss Turner, amethyst. Ninon; Miss Moore, Lido blue chantijly lace; Miss Lees, pillarbox red ninon and black and white bridge coat; Mrs. J. Persey (Te Puke), floral georgette; Mrs. Clifton Geddes (Napier), black cire lace oyer, pink; Miss Ella Weston, maize gold satin; Miss Kelly (Napier), cameo ping taffeta; Miss Hyman, black lace and georgette; Miss Mann, rose du barrie crepe soie and lace; Miss 0. Carr, ciel blue charmeuse; Miss Steer, sapphire blue crepe doria; Miss Brewer, floral crepe de chine; Miss Creamer, black satin; Miss Meehan, cornflower blue panne velvet and brilliant girdle; Miss Dean, old rose ring velvet; Miss Tanner, black taffeta and panne vel-, vet; Miss Moore, cyclamen taffeta; Miss Elvridge, apple green ninon.
