HASTINGS RELIEF.

At a recent meeting flio women's organisations in the Hastings district formed themselves into one committee for the purpose of assisting in giving relief to earthquake sufferers, especially those in country districts. Another meeting was held at which it was le ported that in all probability there would be between 20CO and 3COO peoplo to bo looked after. One speaker considered that people were returning to Napier in greater numbers than could be absorbed. From the Mayor of Oamaru was received a cheque for £IOO to bo used as the organisation considered best. Another gift was a case of new clothing from the Kaiapoi Woollen Mills.
