FIGHTING SWORDFISH.

EXCITEMENT FOR ANGLERS. SPORT OFF MAYOR ISLAND. [from our own correspondent.] TAURANGA, Saturday. Fishing from the launch Oceanic, off Mayor Island, Mr. H. E. Olding landed a swordfish which fought for an hour and 20 minutes. It gave a splendid display on the surface for the greater part of the timo. The fish weighed 4181b. Mr. E. Edwards, of Taranaki, fishing from tho same launch, hooked a swordfish which fought for an hour and 40 minutes. Then tho rod snapped .and shortly afterwards tho line parted and the fish got away.
