CITY BY-LAWS.
Sir, —We want a City Council that will sec that the by-laws are not flouted as they are at present, There is a by-aw that no motor-cycle can be ridden without a silencer. Yet all day and every day the irresponsible hoodlum youths race along Parnell Road, one after the other, making a noise that is worse than a riveting gang at work, and nothing is said, nor is notice taken of these same public nuisances who rush even up Queen Street, making more noise than a Maxim gun. There is also a by-law that no engine can approach a bowser still running, and this is being broken all day long. Won't the ratepayer of Auckland wake up? Wellington can have live associations in every ward to prevent such flouting of the by-laws. Why not Auckland ? Wake Ur.
