ELLERSLIE-PANMURE ROAD.
COST OF MAINTENANCE. INQUIRY BY COMMISSION. Evidence in connection with the apportioning of the cost of maintaining the portion of the Ellerslie-Panmure Road passing through the Panmure shopping area will be taken before Mr. E. Bolt, of Wellington, at the. Chamber of Commerce this morning. Mr. Bolt was appointed commissioner, and will preside at the inquiry. When the question of this piece of road being permanently surfaced arose some time ago, it was found that the wrong body had been maintaining that particular 6ection of the highway for the past 40 years. As there appeared to be no likelihood of a settlement being reached between the two bodies concerned, the Mount Wellington T!oad' Board and the Panmure Township Road Board, it was decided to submit the evidence to a commissioner.
