ONEHUNGA EFFORTS
A meeting of tho local branch of the Plunket Society, held in' the Onehunga Presbyterian Hall, was attended by Mrs. J E. Cowell, president, Miss Morton, Mayoress, and Mesdames Buchanan, Cuthbelt, Houldsworth, Kirk wood, Neville, Park. Scott, Straw, Sutherland and Watliew, and Miss Robb, secretary and treasurer.
A vote of condolence with the sufferers in the Hawke's Bay disaster was passed, also a vote of sympathy with Mrs. W. 11. Parkes, president of tho Auckland Society, in her illness. The president welcomed Mrs. Kirkwood as a new member. Successful efforts havo been made during the jear to secure the assistance of additional members, and these will bo continued during the ensuing year.
Votes of thanks wero conveyed to the retiring officers, and also to Mrs. R. Buchanan for her services during the yeat. The 'appointment of officers included tho re-election of Mrs. Cowell as president, and Miss Robb as secretary and treasurer.
