THREE WINS FOR SIMPSON

The American athletes made their last appearance in New Zealand at Athletic Park yesterday. Simpson was in good form and had three wins. Kiser defected Rose in the mile eventResults were:—
50 Yards Invitation Short. Limit Handi-' ra p.—Simpson (America) scr, 1; C. H. Jenkins (Wellington), half-a-yard, 2; F. H. Stephenson (University), lyd, 3. Won by half-a-yard. Time, 5 3-ss. Also started: Pierson (Invercargill), M. G. Valk ( Otago), AT. Strange (Manawatu). 100 Yards Invitation Race.—Simpson, scr, 1 ; Jenkins, levels. 2; Stephenson, 3yds, 3. Won by a yard. Also started: Pierson, Strange. Time, 10 3-ss. 120 Yards invitation Handicap.- Simpson, scr, 1: Jenkins, 3yds, 2; Pierson, 3yds, 7>. Won easily by a. yard. Also started: Strange, J. T. Fleming (Well ington). Time, 12s. One Mile- Invitation Race.--Riser (America), 1; Rose, 2; R. 11. McDonald (Manawatu), 3. Time 4m 22 5-ss. Also started: O. Gibbons (Wellington), <McCarthy (Petone). Kiser led all the way, Rose making a great run in tho last lap and reducing the lead from 20 yards to 2 <' G. Bavne did not start in the one mile race. It was announced that he was not fit.
