CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH.
Auckland.—Tho weather was fine yesterday, with bright sunshine all day. There was a light wind from the northwest. Tho barometer remained hi;h, rising to 30.35 in. last evening. Wellington.—lt was fine and warm yesterday but cloudy for most of tho day. There was a light northerly wind. Christchurch. —Tho weather yesterday was fine, with a fair amount of cloud. The wind was light from the north-east and tho maximum temperature was 63deg. Tho barometer last evening registered 30.'29 in. Dunedin.—The weather was fine an pleasant yesterday morning, but overcast and threatening in the afternoon. Tho wind was fresh from the south-west. The ' temperature was Mdeg. Tho barometer rose during tho day, an* in tho evening registered 30.25 in.
