DAMAGE BY FIRE.

OUTBREAK AT MOUNT ALBERT SMART WORK BY BRIGADE. A smart save was made by the Mount Albert Fire Brigade last evening, when it was called to an outbreak of fire in the residence of Mrs. M. Rousell-Cossy, in Belmont Road, Mount Albert.

The alarm was given at 8.20 p.m. and when the brigade arrived it was found that firo had broken out under the staircase on the ground floor of the building, a two-storeyed dwelling of 10 rooms. Good work by the brigade resulted in the outbreak beinjj extinguished in a short time, only minor damage being done.

TAKAI'UNA RESIDENCE. DETAILS OF INSURANCES. Tho two-storeyed wooden residence of Mr. Carl Williamson, in Clifton Road, Takapuna, which was destroyed by fire on Wednesday evening, was insured for £IOOO with tho London and Lancashire Company. Tho furniture and contents were covered for £SOO with tho same company, while there was an additional policy for £3OO with tho Yorkshire Insurance Company, Limited.

GARAGE BURNED DOWN. LOSS OF 19 VEHICLES. * [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NELSON, Thursday. Garage premises owned by Mr. J. V. Hayes and occupied by W. A. Kenning, Limited, were completely gutted by fire last night. Seventeen motor-cars, two o!: them new, and two large trucks were destroved.

The building was insured in the Standard Office for £ISOO, the workshop for £600.. and the cars in stock for £SOO, while the trucks were insured separately, all in tho National Office.
