WORK FOR SMALL FARMERS. RESOLUTION AT TAURANGA. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 TAURANGA, Monday. Matters concerning unemployment schemes were discussed yesterday at a meeting of the Tauranga branch of the Farmers' Union. The chairman, Mr. C. E. Macmillan, M.P., said there were scores of men on farms who had previously supplemented their earnings by working for local bodies and others, and work should be found for such men. He maintained that more discretion should be given to local unemployment committees to define farmers eligible for work under scheme 5, and moved accordingly. The motion was carried unanimously.
