HERALD RELIEF FUND.
TOTAL NOW OVER £IO,OOO. HOSPITAL NURSES' GIFT. Numerous generous donations are still being made to the Herald and Auckland Weekly News earthquake relief fund, which now totals £10,432 3s 6d. Contributions received yesterday included £43 10s from the nursing staff of the Auckland Hospital. Payments totalling £IO,OOO have been paid from the fund into the Bank of New Zealand.

FURTHER DONATIONS.
TOTAL TO DATE £15,195
Further large contributions were made to the Mayor of Auckland's earthquake relief fund yesterday,' and when the Town Hall offices closed at 4,30 p.m. the total in hand bad reached £15,195. A donation of £2OO has been made by the Waitemata Electric-Power Board. A request that the money should be used for the immediate relief of the/ sufferers was contained in a motion authorising the donation. ' ASSISTANCE BY POLICE.
COLLECTION IN AUCKLAND.
A contribution from the police at Auckland toward the earthquake relief fund has been sanctioned by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. W. G. Wohlmann. At a meeting last week representatives of the uniform and detective branches agreed to contribute a day's pay #nd a collection is now being made.
