TRANSPORT DISTRICT.

MANGERE NOW INCLUDED.

An application from the Manukau County Council to have the Mangere Riding of the county included in the Auckland Transport District was approved by the Auckland Transport Board at its meeting yesterday. The secretary, Mr. W. St. J. Clarke, reported that the application for the inclusion of Mangere must be accepted by the board, provided that the Minister consented, but that the matter of representation depended entirely on the decision of the board.

The chairman, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, said that in the matter of representation he understood that the riding was prepared to be bracketed with one of the existing groups. In reply to Mr. E. J. Phelan; who asked if the board would not bo expected to run buses or to extend its tramways into the riding, Mr, Allum said no requests of the sort had been brought to his notice.
