REDUCTION IN WAGES.

WAIPA COUNTY STAFF. COUNCIL'S ECONOMY MEASURES [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] TE AWAMUTU, Monday. The Waipa County Council to-day accepled the recommendation of its Finance Committee in favour of a 7Jr per cent, reduction in salaries and wages, as from April 1, 1931. The reductions represent an estimated saving of £640 a of the council also decided to reduce their travelling allowances by ® similar percentage, and in future council meetings will be held in alternate months instead of every month.
